Tips for CFD Traders: How to Organise Your Email List

There’s no doubt that emails remain to be one of the most effective channels for marketing brands online including CFD trading businesses. There are many numbers and statistics that support such claim. While social media marketing and influencer marketing are getting bigger and more effective these days, there’s always a special place for email marketing.

According to a survey, at least 80% of retailers in the world believe that email marketing is the best tool for maintaining a positive relationship with clients. Moreover, consumers who are subscribed to email lists spend 138% more than those who are not subscribers. Simply put, email marketing works wonders for brands all over the world.

If your email list is a smorgasbord of email addresses, it’s about online time and attendance time to take some time to organise everything. It could be a bit of a challenge if you have thousands and thousands of addresses in your data, but there’s no better time to start than yesterday and today.

Here are some of the best practices to keep a healthy email list:

1. Welcome new subscribers.

Sending a welcome email to new subscribers isn’t only for pleasantry purposes but also to maintain a good relationship with them from the get-go. New subscribers want to feel welcome and important so sending them that first email will do more than you think. More importantly, according to data, welcome emails produce 320% more conversions than promotional emails.

2. Clean up your list.

As we have mentioned, the success of an email campaign doesn’t only depend on the number of subscribers. For a campaign to be effective, your list should have quality subscribers. So make sure that you filter your list. Remove from the list email addresses that bounce, misspelled addresses, duplicate addresses, dead addresses(inactive for at least six months), and non-responders. However, before you remove them from the list, make a last effort to reach out to them. Send an email asking whether they still want to receive emails from your CFD trading business or not anymore. If they don’t respond, it would be better to remove them from your data.

3. Give your subscribers the freedom to choose frequency.

Data show that one of the top reasons why people unsubscribe from a mailing list is because they receive too many emails. Don’t make the mistake of bombarding your subscribers with emails to the point that they are compelled to hit the unsubscribe button. Let them choose how frequent they would receive emails, it could be once a week, twice or once a month, or just when special offers will be released. You don’t want your subscribers to feel that you are spamming them, so give them the freedom to choose email frequency.

4. Don’t make it hard for them to unsubscribe.

This tip might sound counter intuitive but it will help you maintain a positive relationship with your audience. One thing subscribers hate the most about email marketing is that some brands give them a hard time unsubscribing. Some brands may even trick consumers by sending complicated or unclear instructions on how to unsubscribe. Remember, if your subscriber wants to call it quits, he or she really wants to do it, so there’s no reason to beat around the bushes. Keep it simple and easy.

It’s No Walk in the Park

Forming a solid and active email list is a challenge for any marketer but it is the easy part—maintaining that list is the hardest stage. If you want your brand to maintain a healthy email list, the most practical solution is to leave it to the hands of specialists.
